Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents 3 to 6, their subordinates and persons authorised by them from in any manner removing the sand in Palaru river between Pudupadi village and Mangadu village on the southern side and Tirumalaicherry village and Gudimallur village on the northern side and direct the respondents 1 and 2 to pass necessary orders to prevent sand quarry in the said area so as to save the drinking water source of the village people.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The prayer in the writ petition is forbearing the respondents 3 to 6, their subordinates and persons authorised by them from in any manner removing the sand in Palaru River between Pudupadi village and Mangadu village on the southern side and Tirumalaicherry village and Gudimallur village on the northern side and direct the respondents 1 and 2 to pass necessary orders to prevent sand quarry in the said area so as to save the drinking water source of the village people.

2. The learned Advocate General, on instruction states that the quarrying activities have already been closed on 19.06.2014 in Thirumalaicherry village.

3. In view of the aforesaid, no further directions are required and the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2013 is closed.
