Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus the respondent authorities to grant permission to conduct the Vinayagar Charthuthi Festival from 05.09.2016 to 11.09.2016 in a grand manner by erecting Vinayagar statue before the Vinayagar Temple at river bank Palacode and provide police protection for procession for taking the Vinayakar statue in the lorry on 11.09.2016 at 10 A.M by procession as per Hindus customs which is being followed time immemorial with drums music and celebrations through the usual routes being followed for the several years viz. Mariamman Koil Street Kanampalli Street, Mandaivali Kalkoodapatti Kesarkuli Road, Solaiappachetti street to Ther Mutti and from there via main road to Palacode Bus stand and from there to Tomato Market and finally dropping the statute in Hogenakkal River water.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the Vinayagar Charthuthi Festival from 05.09.2016 to 11.09.2016 and also to provide police protection for the same. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader had produced the written instructions wherein, it has been clearly stated that a case in Crime No.435 of 2015 had already been registered against the petitioner and 25 others and there is every likelihood of law and order problem in the said locality, in view of granting such permission.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader and also the fact that the festival, 'Vinayagar Charthuthi' had already been over, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition and hence, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
