The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus directing the first respondent to issue orders on the proposal of the third respondent sent through the second respondent in Na.Ka.No.3028/2023/C1 (Main) dated 28.03.2023 and Na.Ka.No.3518/2025 /C1 (Main) dated 02.04.2024 within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this court.
2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was originally appointed as a Sanitary Inspector by the second respondent and posted at Cuddalore Municipality on 25.02.2014. Subsequently, he was transferred and posted at Tiruchirapalli City 2/5
Municipality Corporation on his request. He would further submit that even on 10.03.2020, the petitioner has sent a representation seeking permanent absorption in Tiruchirapalli City Municipal Corporation and a similar request was considered against one T.Anandakumar as Sanitary Inspector at Karur Municipality. He would also submit that the petitioner once again has sent representations dated 28.04.2025 and 22.06.2025, and such representations are pending with the respondents.
4. At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner is not eligible for such relief as it is against the Rules. However, would contend that since the petitioner has already sent representations to the respondents, they will pass orders within a reasonable time.
5. In view of the above fair submission, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 28.04.2025 and 22.06.2025, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
