O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 herein to remove the name of 6th respondent from the revenue records in respect of the petitioner's property having an extent of 0.4 cents, comprised in New Survey No.186/2, Old Survey No.144/1B, at Thiyagar Village, Kallakurichi Taluk and District, bearing patta No.400, based upon his representation dated 20.11.2024, and reminder representation dated 06.01.2025.

2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to 6th respondent is dispensed with.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner submitted a representation dated 20.11.2024 to the respondents seeking rectification of errors in the revenue records in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.144/1, at Thiyagar Village, Kallakurichi Taluk and District. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4. At the outset, it was submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader for respondents that the representation dated 20.11.2024, made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was

agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

5. In view of thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with the following directions;

i) The respondents shall consider the representation dated 20.11.2024, in accordance with law, after issuing notice and affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, 6th respondent and all other interested parties including rival claimants, if any. ii) Though facts have been set out extensively in the affidavit, this court does not propose to deal with it while leaving it open to the respondents to call for any document/conduct enquiry, if any, while considering the representation dated 20.11.2024. iii) The entire process shall be completed within a period of 8 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy.

iv) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned

respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. Rights and contentions of the petitioner, 6th respondent and all other interested parties are left open. No costs.
