Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the first respondent herein dated 22.12.2022 in Appeal No.PG/131/Appeal/190/2022, and quash the same and further direct the third respondent to permit the petitioner to operate PPF Account No.0781057538 opened on 02.02.2012 with due interest on all deposits therein as per the Public Provident Fund Scheme. 1/4

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.Challenging an order refusing to operate the PPF Account No.0781057538, which was opened on 02.02.2012 by the father of the petitioner on his behalf, the petitioner had filed an appeal before the first respondent. This Court is informed that the first respondent has sought certain clarification from respondents 2 and 3, and the same has been provided to the first respondent. However, the appeal is not heard thus far, and seeks a direction to the first respondent. 3.Mr.K.Ramanamoorthy, the learned Central Government Counsel takes notice for respondents 1 to 3.

4.Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the prayer is not happily awarded but submitted that he only seeks an expeditious disposal of the pending appeal before the first respondent. 5.The first respondent is now directed to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 22.12.2022 within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of an online copy or the date on which the order is hosted in the official website, whichever is earlier, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner before taking the decision. 6.This Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
