ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for a direction to the Respondents police to complete the investigation and to file a final report in Crime No 129 of 2023 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

Heard Mr.Ma.P.Thangavel, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor on behalf of respondents.

3. Considering the nature of allegations made in the affidavit, this Court directed the respondent police to file a status report and accordingly, a status report has been filed today. It is seen from the status report that the accused person had cheated more than 78 persons to the tune of Rs. 1 Crore 67 lakhs and more complaints are being received by the respondent police. It is further stated that the details of the property belonging to the accused person is also being verified and collected.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to ascertain the assets of the accused person immediately and proceed further to initiate attachment proceedings under the TANPID Act through the appropriate authority and the investigation shall be completed and final report shall be filed as expeditiously as possible 5.

This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
