This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the Application No.004579 of 2016 for issuing Patta in favour of the petitioner for his agricultural land at the earliest.

The petitioner purchased the agricultural land admeasuring 04.84.0 Ares situated in survey number 150/2 of Malliyamppadi village, Chinna Salem Taluk, Villupuram District from one Lakshmana Gounder Jageer vide sale deed dated 13.08.74. The petitioner has constructed a dwelling house in his land and residing there along with his family members for the past forty years. The petitioner has been issued Ration Card, voter Identity Card etc. But till date, patta has not been issued to the petitioner with respect of the said land. petitioner sent a representation to the first respondent on 04.08.2016. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
3. According to the petitioner, he purchased the land in the year 1974 and subsequently, he could not get the patta. Now the petitioner has made representation before the District Collector, Villupuram and the District Collector directed the petitioner to approach the Revenue Divisional Officer for obtaining patta. In view of the same, the petitioner has given application to the first respondent on 04.08.2016 and it has been numbered as petition No.004579 of 2016. Now the petitioner seeks for Mandamus to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner at the earliest.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that according to the seniority, the representation of the petitioner will be taken up.

In view of the submissions of the learned Additional Government Pleader, since the application has been numbered, the first respondent will consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. 6.The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
