PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the 3rd respondent in his proceedings No.520/TP2/2019 dated 19.06.2019 and to quash the same as illegal and direct the respondents to permit the petitioner's association to conduct waiting struggle at Chepauk, Chennai for 25 days peacefully.

O R D E R

The impugned order dated 19.06.2019 passed by the third respondent herein, rejecting the petitioner's request for conducting a peaceful demonstration at Chepauk, near Government Guest House for a period of 25 days, on the ground that such a demonstration would create law and order problem to the general public, is under challenge in the present Writ Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that time may be specified, if permission is granted for a peaceful demonstration for one day in any of the permissible places.

3. The learned State Public Prosecutor submitted that if a request is made for one day peaceful demonstration, permission can be granted subject to reasonable restrictions.

4. In the light of the above submission made by both sides, the petitioner herein is permitted to conduct a peaceful demonstration between 10.00 a.m., and 05.00 p.m., on 21.10.2019 in the permissible area adjoining the Government Guest House at Chepauk. It is open to the respondents herein to impose reasonable restrictions for regularizing such a peaceful demonstration.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
