The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition challenging the order of the first respondent dated 24.04.2007, canceling the order of promotion as Watchman dated 29.06.2002 without prior notice and reverting him as Cook and consequently direct the respondent to allow him to continue as watchman.
2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has passed Higher Secondary Course Examination and B.Lit(Tamil) and has passed typewriting examinations. With the above qualification, he initially joined as Cook through Employment Exchange in and by an order dated 27.03.1989. After serving 13 years, the petitioner was promoted as Watchman on 29.06.2002. Accordingly, he joined in the said post on 06.07.2002. Since the petitioner was in service as Watchman and fully eligible and qualified for the post of Junior Assistant/Typist by https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
virtue of seniority and other qualifications. Accordingly, he made a representation seeking for further promotion as Junior Assistant/Typist. While such being the matter, the respondent passed an impugned order dated 24.04.2007, canceling the promotion as Watchman and reverted as a Cook. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has filed this present Writ Petition. 3.Heard both sides.
4.The learned counsel for the respondent submitted a letter dated 06.07.2018 and stated that during pendency of the Writ Petition, the petitioner was again promoted as Tamil Pandit and subsequently promoted and transferred as Wardener and continued to serve in the Adi Dravidar Boys Hostel, Pethanayakanpalayam from 01.11.2016.
5.In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in the Writ Petition. Hence, the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
