This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing respondents to survey the lands and fix the boundaries and rectify mistake in Patta No.183 and FMB Sketch in respect of the lands comprised in Survey No.128/5 (0.02 cents), 128/9B (0.33 cents), 129/3B (1.19 cents), 132/4 (0.65 cents) totally 2.19 acres situated at Revenue Village "Gengaisoodamani" Chetpet Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, pursuant to the representation dated 18.06.2025 submitted by him.

2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is the owner of the lands comprised in Survey Nos.128/5 (0.02 cents), 128/9B (0.33 cents), 129/3B (1.19 cents), 132/4 (0.65 cents) totally 2.19 acres. Petitioner acquired the aforesaid lands from Sukubhai Ammal, Sankar and Vijayan, through a registered sale deed dated 13.03.1984. However, Patta No.183 contains factual inaccuracies. As per the sale deed dated 13.03.1984, the extent of land in Survey No.129/9B is 0.33 cents, but, it has been erroneously entered in the patta as 24.71 cents and similarly, the extent of land in Survey No.129/3B is 1.19 acres, but it has been incorrectly entered as 87.7 cents. Hence, petitioner has sent a representation dated 18.06.2025 to the respondents herein to survey the lands, fix the boundaries and rectify mistake occurred in existing patta and FMB sketch, however, no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Learned Government Advocate for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has not taken out an online application for

conducting survey. If the petitioner takes out an appropriate online application and pays the necessary fee, the survey would be carried out within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the grievance of the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit an online application to the respondents for surveying the lands and pay necessary fee in respect of the subject property within a period of four weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. On such receipt, the concerned respondent shall consider the application and complete the process within a period of eight weeks, after issuing notice to the petitioner, adjacent land owners and other interested parties including rival claimants, if any. The concerned authority would also consider the petitioner's representation requesting correction and alleged discrepancy between patta and sale deed in respect of the subject property. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard

to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.

6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
