Mr.G.Nanmaran, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant revised pension considering 50% of service for the period served as Village Assistant on consolidated pay from 11.09.1985 to 20.08.2015 along with petitioner's regular service as Village Administrative Officer from 21.08.2015 to 31.05.2024 for calculating petitioner's pension as per Tamil Nadu Pension Rules, 1978, and consequently to direct the respondents to send revised pension proposals and to grant revised 2/4

pension to the petitioner within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner joined as Village Assistant and thereafter promoted as Village Administrative Officer. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he had retired as Village Administrative Officer, but his pension and other retirement benefits have been calculated considering him as Village Assistant. Hence, notifying the defect in the pension calculation and other subsequent terminal benefits, the petitioner has sent representation on 05.04.2025 and such representation is pending with the respondent.

4.At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader would submit that the respondent would consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.

5.In such view of the matter, this Court without going into the merits of the writ petition directs the respondents to consider the above representation of the petitioner upon its own merits and in 3/4
