O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to make payment of sum of Rs.2,15,000/- towards the documentary film of tribal activities made during 75th independence day celebration by the petitioner.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 17.07.2025, this Court passed the following order :

"Mr.E.Veda Bagath Singh, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that he had taken documentary film of Tribal Activities and it was exhibited during the 75th Independence day. However, till date, the payment due and payable to the petitioner to the tune of Rs.2,15,000/-, has not been paid. Under such circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed. The learned Special Government Pleader shall take instructions in this case and ensure that the amount payable to the petitioner is settled at the earliest.

3. Post this case at the end of the motion list on 28.07.2025."

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, Status Report of the 4th respondent was filed and the relevant portions are extracted hereunder: "3. I respectfully submit that the entire amount of Rs.2,15,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifteen Thousand Only) has already 2/4

been paid in full to the petitioner and the claim has been completely settled. The payments were made exclusively through cheques, as detailed below :

4. The petitioner himself had issued a handwritten acknowledgment letter dated 12.07.2024, confirming receipt of the entire amount, including the final installment by cheque. The letter bears his signature and is addressed to the undersigned."

4. From the typed set of papers that has been filed along with the Status Report, it is seen that the entire amount of Rs.2,15,000/- has been paid and the petitioner himself has acknowledged the receipt of the same through a letter dated 12.07.2024.

Recording the above, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 28.07.2025 gya N. ANAND VENKATESH, J.
