O R D E R

This petition has been filed for a direction to the 1st respondent to act upon the complaint/representation made by the petitioner on 28.07.2023, wherein, the petitioner has sought for police protection on the ground that she is facing a potential life threat.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the earlier complaint given by the petitioner is under investigation by the 1st respondent in Crime No.373 of 2023. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner is presently residing at Washermenpet and hence, her request for providing police protection can be made before the concerned jurisdictional police at Washermenpet and same will be considered.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is facing a real life threat and hence, she has shifted to Washermenpet and is living with some one who is ready to accommodate the petitioner at Washermenpet. The learned counsel submitted that ultimately, the petitioner require protection and 2/4

hence, the petitioner is willing to give a fresh complaint/representation to the concerned jurisdictional police at Washermenpet. 4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to give a fresh complaint/representation to the concerned jurisdictional police station at Washermenpet and the same will be enquired and if required, the concerned police shall ensure the safety by giving protection to the petitioner. If there is a real life threat for the petitioner from the accused persons, the 1st respondent shall also ensure that effective steps are taken against them in the investigation pending in Crime No.373 of 2023. They shall ensure that the investigation progresses effectively without any threat being exerted on the petitioner to withdraw the complaint.

5.Accordingly, this criminal original petition is disposed of with the above direction.
