ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 2 to 5 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024 and subsequently, transfer the name of the electricity connection bearing consumer No.04103001220 on the file of the 5th respondent in favour of the petitioner.

2. Mr.I.Syed Sibghatulla, learned Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. Page No.2 of 6

The case of the petitioner is that, he purchased an agricultural land from one Chinnraj and his family members comprised in old Survey No.279 and new survey No.279/1 at Kannamoochi Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District to an extent of 7 acres and 94 cents by executing registered sale deed vide document No.2656/2023 dated 12.07.2023. Thereafter, when the petitioner verified the electricity connection of the said property, it was found that the electricity connection bearing S.C.No.220 and consumer No.04103001220 stands in the name of the 6th respondent. Therefore, he made representations before the respondents 2 to 5 seeking name transfer of the said electricity connection for the borewell fixed in his aforementioned property and the last representation is on 12.02.2024. However, till date, the respondents 2 to 5 have not considered the said representations. Therefore, left with no other alternative, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the 5th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024 and transfer the name of the electricity connection bearing consumer No.04103001220 on the file of the 5th Page No.3 of 6

respondent in favour of the petitioner, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that petitioner's representation 12.02.2024 will be considered by the 5th respondent and appropriate orders will be passed, as expeditiously as possible.

6. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 5th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
