ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The prayer sought in the present writ petition is for a writ of mandamus to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 21.03.2024 and permit the petitioner to run a bunk shop at Tamil Salai, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008 near Children's Hospital.

2. Heard Mr.S.Pushpakaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

3. Learned Standing Counsel would submit that the application should be made to the Town Vending Committee, that too in the prescribed format. If such an application is made, certainly, the same would be considered by the Town Vending Committee.

4. In view of the same, this writ petition is disposed of in the following terms:- (i) It is open to the petitioner to make an application in the prescribed format to the Town Vending Committee; and

(ii) On receipt of such an application, the Town Vending Committee of the respondent Corporation is hereby directed to consider the same and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three months thereafter.

5. With these directions, the writ petition stand disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.26636 of 2024 is closed.
