For Petitioners : Mr.R.Krishnaswamy For Respondent : Mr.K.Raja Standing Counsel C O M M O N O R D E R Mr.K.Raja, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioners have filed these writ petitions seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay 12% interest for 3/6

the belated payment of their retirement benefits. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners retired from service on 31.05.2023, 30.10.2024, 31.05.2023, 20.03.2023, 31.05.2023, 31.05.2023 and 31.05.2023 respectively, however, the retirement benefits were settled belatedly, albeit, without any interest. He would further submit that the petitioners have sent representation to the respondent on 17.03.2025, 27.03.2025, 28.03.2025, 27.03.2025, 20.03.2025, 19.03.2025 and 17.03.2025 respectively, claiming interest upon the belated payment. 4.At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel would fairly submit that the respondent would pay 6% interest per annum upon belated eligible payment as per the order of this Court in similar writ petition in W.P.No.40031 of 2024, dated 06.01.2025. 5.

Considering the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay 6% interest per annum upon belated eligible payment of retirement benefits of the petitioners, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
