O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to pass orders on the appeal of the petitioner dated 04.03.2019, so as to enable the petitioner to get medical reimbursement of Rs.1,66,271/-.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.The petitioner retired from the Industrial Training Institute, Nagercoil and Government of Tamil Nadu Service on 31.05.2000 as Assistant Training Officer and is drawing Government pension.

The petitioner underwent emergency treatment on 18.06.2018 and incurred a total expense of Rs.1,66,271/-. The petitioner made representation claiming reimbursement of his medical expenses and the same was rejected by the original Authority. As against the same, the petitioner filed appeal before the first respondent, however, till date the first respondent has not considered the said appeal. Hence, this writ petition.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 04.03.2019.

5.Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
