Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to remove the encroachments on the Pond situated at Harikrishnapuram Village, Enathur Panchayat, Walajabad Union, Kanchipuram Taluk and District in Survey No.582 for the usage of drinking water for animals as per the petitioner's representation dated 8.1.2024.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) Alleging that respondents 7 to 10 have encroached on the pond in Survey No.582 situated at Harikrishnapuram Village,
Enathur Panchayat, Walajabad Union, Kanchipuram Taluk and District, by constructing houses, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondent authorities on 8.1.2024 seeking removal of the said encroachments. As the said representation did not evoke any response, the present writ petition is filed.
2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 5.
3. Considering the narrow scope of the prayer made in the writ petition, without entering into the merits of the matter, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the fifth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 8.1.2024, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, of course, after affording an opportunity to respondents 7 to 10 and other interested persons. If the fifth respondent is not the competent authority, the same may be intimated to the petitioner to enable him approach the competent authority seeking redressal
