ORDER

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent herein to levy single property tax, Water tax and sewage tax to the petitioner's House No.76, Kulathangan Street, Ward No.25, Ganthi Sowk, Udumalpet Taluk.

The case of the petitioner is that the aforesaid property belongs to petitioner's father and after his demise, the said property was partitioned and the petitioner was allotted with Door Nos.76 and 77. Though its a single house, having only one water and sewerage connection, the respondent used to levy taxes on two Door Number viz., Door No.76 and 77. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 08.03.2025 before the respondent, seeking to levy single property, water and sewerage tax. However, no order was passed, as on date. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.03.2025, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

4. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has no objection for the said order being passed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the limited relief sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 08.03.2025, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. This writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
