Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2024 and consequently direct the respondent to cancel the joint patta dated 14.02.2024 issued by the 2nd respondent. O R D E R
The Writ Petition is filed seeking mandamus to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.04.2024 and consequently direct the respondents to cancel the joint patta dated 14.02.2024 issued by the 2nd respondent.
2. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the competent authority to consider the representation of the petitioner is the Revenue Divisional Officer, Gingee, Villupuram and he has not been made party to the proceedings. Therefore, this Court suo motu impleads the Revenue Divisional Officer, Gingee, Villupuram, as the 8th respondent in the present Writ Petition.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that on the application being made before the 8th respondent, the 8th respondent will consider the application and pass orders. 3/6
4. Taking into account the above submission, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh application to the 8th respondent. On receipt of the application being made by the petitioner, the 8th respondent shall proceed to pass orders within a period 12 weeks, from the date of the application made by the petitioner.
5. With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
