PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to dispose of the Representation dated 19.02.2025.

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 19.02.2025.
3. According to the petitioner, her family had jointly possessed/held properties to a total extent of 1 Acre 70 Cents, comprised in various survey numbers in Valathi Village, Melmalayanoor Taluk, Viluppuram District and she approached the 5th respondent office by way of representation dated 19.02.2025, seeking to issue patta for the properties possessed by the family of the petitioner in the name of his maternal uncle Chinnaraj, who is eldest surviving member of the family.

3.1. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite the receipt of representation, the respondents had not taken any action thereof. Hence, this writ petition.
4. At the outset, learned Government Advocate for the respondents would submit that it may be necessary for the petitioner to submit an online application for issuance of patta. In any event, he would submit that the representation dated 19.02.2025, made by the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
5. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that they would take out an online application and the same may be considered in accordance with law which was agreed to by the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.
6. On this, learned Government Advocate for the respondents would submit that if any such online application is filed, the same would be considered and appropriate orders would passed in accordance with law. 3/6

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation dated 19.02.2025 and online application if any made by the petitioner, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested persons/stake holders, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the matter and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
