The petitioner, who was arrested on 13.06.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 191(2), 191(3), 296(b), 324(4), 125, 311 and 351(3) of BNS in connection with Crime No. 595 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 25.03.2025 at about 8.00 a.m., the petitioners herein, along with five other accused persons, came to the defacto complainant's petty shop and purchased water bottles and snacks. Thereafter, they attempted to leave the premises without paying for the items. When the defacto complainant demanded payment, the petitioners and the other accused persons allegedly threatened him, forcibly took a sum of Rs.950/- from his pocket and threw the cool drinks bottles onto the middle of the road before fleeing from the spot. Hence, the complaint.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He also submitted that the petitioner is in no way connected with the alleged offence, however, he is suffering incarceration from 13.06.2025. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 2/4

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the allegations are serious in nature involving robbery by a group of persons. It is further submitted that releasing the petitioner at this stage may hinder the investigation and there is a likelihood of the petitioner absconding or influencing witnesses.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. In view of the nature of the allegations, the involvement of multiple accused and considering the stage of investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant bail at this juncture.
