The petitioner, who was arrested on 13.06.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 296(b), 311, 125, 351(3) of B.N.S. in connection with Crime No. 906 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant is running a petty shop near his residence at Karumari Amman Nagar, New Washermenpet. On 13.06.2025, the petitioner/accused is alleged to have visited the complainant's shop and taken a water bottle, cool drinks and cigarettes without paying for them. When the defacto complainant demanded payment, the petitioner allegedly placed a knife at the complainant's hip, threatened him, and robbed a sum of Rs.650/-. It is further alleged that the petitioner threw the cool drinks bottle onto the road and fled from the spot. Hence, the complaint.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He also submitted that the petitioner is in no way connected with the alleged offence, however, he is suffering incarceration from 13.06.2025. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent strongly opposed the bail and submitted that the petitioner is involved in a serious offence of robbery with a deadly weapon and his release at this stage 2/4

would affect the ongoing investigation. It is further submitted that the petitioner has a criminal antecedent and if released, there is a likelihood of him committing similar offences or threatening the complainant.

5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

6. Upon perusal of the materials available and considering the nature and gravity of the offence, particularly the use of a weapon to commit robbery, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
