Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 6 to forbear the 7th respondent from removing ordinary earth soil from the Velliyur tank situate in Survey No.274 of Velliyur Village, Tiruvallur Taluk and District beyond the extent allocated vide Na.Ka.No.576/2010/Mineras-2 dated 14.6.2023 on the file of the first respondent and further directing the respondents 1 and 6 to initiate action against the 7th respondent after conducting survey and inspection of the Velliyur tank situate in Survey No.274 of Villiyur Village, Tiruvallur Taluk and District for having removed excess ordinary earth soil in terms of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concessions Rules, 1959.

ORDER
(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.R.Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, assisted by Mr.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 6.
2. The petitioner submits that after filing of the writ petition, the respondents have taken action against the said quarry.
3. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, submits that on 7.8.2023 enquiry was conducted and illegality was found. The action under Rule 36A of the Tamil Nadu Minor Mineral Concessions Rules, 1959 is being undertaken.
4. In view of the aforesaid statement, the purpose of the writ petition stands served.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.23928 and 23930 of 2023 are closed.
