The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondents police for alleged offences punishable under Sections 120B, 420 and 468 of IPC, in Cr.No.14 of 2021seeks anticipatory bail.

The case of the prosecution is that one Sri Vikrant Singh, who filed writ petition in WP.No.3485 of 2021 before the High Court of Guwahati challenging his termination from IIT, Guwahati and during course of hearing of the above writ petition, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent filed an affidavit bringing on record before the said High Court a letter dated 18.09.2021 written by Dr.Brijesh Kumar Raj, Ex Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, IIT, Guwahati, addressed to the learned Senior Counsel Sri R.P.Kakoti appearing for the respondent IIT. The contents of the letter appear to be derogatory in nature. On enquiry, it has come to light that the petitioner /accused under the guidance of the Director,IIT, Guwahati, Professor TG.Sitharam of Civil Engineering Department had posted two letters in question. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that a false complaint has been given against the petitioner and he has nothing to do with the said allegations. He would further submit that Interstate Anticipatory bail may be granted to him to enable him to move to the appropriate jurisdictional Court in Guwahati for necessary relief.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to grant inter-state interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner for a period of eight weeks from today to enable him to move to the concerned Court.

5. Accordingly, interim interstate anticipatory bail is granted to the petitioner for a period of eight weeks, on condition that the petitioner shall surrender before the learned Judicial Magistrate Court -IV, Puducherry within a period of fifteen days from the date on which the order copy made ready and the petitioners shall execute separate bonds for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) each with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the said learned 2/4

Magistrate. Further, within eight weeks from the date of execution of bail bond, the petitioner shall approach the competent Court in Guwahati and seek appropriate relief.
