This Criminal Original Petition is filed by LW.12 seeking speedy disposal of the case in C.C.No.453 of 2022 on the file of the Metropolitan Magistrate, CCB and CBCID Cases, Egmore, Chennai.. 2.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that there are six accused in this case, the prosecution proposed to examine 18 witnesses. Since the discharge petition filed by the accused persons, for the past two years trial not commenced. He further submits that the petition filed to discharge was dismissed recently and the case is posted to 06.09.2024 for framing of charges.

Since the legal impediment to proceed with the trial got cleared only one month ago, this Court is not inclined to fix any date for completion of trial, however, the learned Magistrate shall take note of long pendency of the case and complete the trial as expeditiously as possible. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 27.08.2024 rpl 2/4
