takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to settle a sum of Rs.8,58,816/- towards 6% interest to the petitioner for the belated settlement of retirement benefits by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 23.04.2025.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner retired from service on 31.05.2023, however, the retirement benefits were settled belatedly, albeit, without any interest. He would further submit that the petitioner has sent representation to the respondent on 23.04.2025, claiming interest upon the belated payment.

4.At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader would fairly submit that the respondent would pay 6% interest per annum upon belated eligible payment as per the order of this Court in similar writ petition in W.P.No.40031 of 2024, dated 06.01.2025. 2/4

5.Considering the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay 6% interest per annum upon belated eligible payment of retirement benefits of the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
