ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to take action against the third respondent, which is allegedly permitting gambling activities inside the club.
2. Heard Mr.K.Raja, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.
3. The specific case of the petitioner is that he is a member of the club and that the third respondent club was using the club for gambling activities. Hence, a police raid was conducted on 18.06.2025 in the premises belonging to the third respondent. Thereafter, a representation was given to the respondents 1 and 2 to initiate action against the club and to stop the gambling activities inside the club. Since the same was not considered, the 2/8
present writ petition has been filed.
4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the inter se dispute between the members of the Club, this Court is inclined to pass orders in this writ petition only insofar as preventing the gambling activities that is alleged to be continuing in the third respondent club. Hence, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner and conduct enquiry and take necessary action if gambling activities are going on in the club, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. ORDER
Today, the matter was listed under the caption "for being mentioned" on the ground that there is an inadvertent mistake that has crept in Paragraph No.5 of the order. Therefore, Paragraph No.4 of the order dated 11.07.2025, shall be replaced as follows:
4.
