ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.36 of 2019 pending on the file of the first respondent.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the case pertains to the year 2019 and that the petitioners, other than being the employees of Shri Vasantham Land Promoters, have no role in the offence allegedly committed by the main accused, who are the promoters of the real estate project. The petitioners have been granted anticipatory bail and despite the pendency of the case from the year 2019, there has been no progress.

At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the main accused in this case, namely Shri Vasantham Land Promoters, had cheated several other persons. The complaints given by the said persons have been taken up for investigation by the Inspector of Police, Economic Offence Wing, Salem and the same is pending in Crime No.4 of 2018. He further submitted that there is a likelihood of the present case also being transferred to the Inspector of Police, Economic Offence Wing, Salem, to be investigated along with the other case pending in Crime No.4 of 2018.

Recording the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the first respondent police, to transfer the case in Crime No.36 of 2019 to the file of the Inspector of Police, EOW, Salem, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
