By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the Patta application dated 27.06.2025 bearing No.2025/0103/02/262322 made for issuance of patta and to consequently grant patta for the said property situated at Plot No.30, Old revenue No.154, New Revenue No.123 Madipakkam Village, Saidapet taluk, Chengelput district and bearing part of survey No.174/2 measuring an extent of 2400 sq ft in favour of the petitioner.

3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner submitted an application on 27.06.2025 before the respondent for issuance of patta in respect of the subject property. However, the said application was not considered so far by the respondent. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.
4.At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondent that the survey number in the prayer of this Writ Petition and in the petitioner's Application dated 27.06.2025 do not match, inasmuch as in the prayer it is mentioned as S.No.174/2, while in the application for issuance of patta, it is referred as S.No.174/37. The learned Government Pleader further submitted that the petitioner may submit a fresh application indicating the correct survey number.
5.In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, if any fresh application is filed by the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the same on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties/rival claimants. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the application and it is open to the respondent concerned 3/7
to consider the application on its own merits and in accordance with law.
