This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the revision petition filed by the petitioner on 14.08.2023 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

Heard Mr.M.Guruprasad, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Bindran, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 3.

The case of the petitioner is that while he was working as a Grade I Police Constable at Perundurai Police Station, he received a charge memo dated 04.08.2022 under Rule 3 (b) of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1955. The departmental proceedings were conducted and the petitioner was dismissed from service by 2/5

proceedings of the respondents 2 and 3. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed a revision petition before the 1st respondent dated 14.08.2023. Since the same was not considered by the respondent, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and limited relief sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the revision petition filed by the petitioner on 14.08.2024 on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass a final order within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 1st respondent along with all relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above 3/5

directions. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
