Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the promotion of the petitioner as Inspector of Police in the light of hte judgment of this Court dated 18 September 2007 in W.P.No.25043 of 2002 within a reasonable time. ORDER

The petitioner is presently working as Sub Inspector of Police. It is the grievance of the petitioner that notwithstanding the order passed by this Court dated 18 September 2007 in W.P.No.25043 of 2002, he was not given promotion. The petitioner is therefore before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. The question as to whether the petitioner is entitled to the benefits of the order in W.P.No.25043 of 2002 dated 18 September 2007 is essentially an issue to be decided by the second respondent.

4. The petitioner has already submitted a representation dated 30 September 2010. It is for the second respondent to decide the issue in the light of the order dated 18 September 2007 in W.P.No.25043 of 2002.

5. The second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 30 September 2010 in the light of the order dated 18 September 2007 in W.P.No.25043 of 2002. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
