ORDER

This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking extension of time to comply with the conditional order directing the deposit of the subject cheque amount of Rs.10,00,000/-

before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Fast Track Court, Dharmapuri as imposed in the order dated 09.06.2025 made in Crl.M.P.No.10428 of 2025 in Crl.R.C.No.685 of 2025 on the file of this Court.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Court, while granting suspension of sentence to the petitioner, had directed the petitioner/accused to deposit the entire cheque amount of Rs.10,00,000/- to the credit of STC No.27 of 2020 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate-Fast Track Court, Dharmapuri, within a period of four weeks. He further submitted that after the suspension of sentence, the parties have entered into negotiations to amicably settle the matter. In the meantime, the petitioner's son's marriage has been fixed. Hence, he prays for extension of time to deposit the conditional amount.

3. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to grant an extension of time. Accordingly, petitioner is directed to deposit the entire cheque amount i.e., Rs.10,00,000/- on or before 04.08.2025. Failing which, the order of

suspension of sentence already granted by this Court shall stand automatically cancelled and the respondent police is at liberty to take appropriate steps to secure the petitioner to undergo the remaining period of sentence as ordered by the Trial Court and confirmed by the Appellate Court.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered.
