PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's written representation dated 26.07.2023 and thereby pass order to give necessary protection for the Kumbhabishekam festival or other festival in Sree Droupadi Amman temple at Bagaveli Village, Ranipet District.

O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 26.07.2023 wherein the petitioner has sought for permission to conduct Kumbhabishekam in Sree Droupadi Amman temple at Bagaveli Village at Ranipet District with police protection.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted the copy of the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.A5/1291/2022 dated 12.04.2022, wherein the Revenue Divisional 2/5

Officer, Ranipet, after conducting an enquiry, has taken a decision that both the parties should not conduct any festival till they are able to come to some understanding. It is further mentioned in the order that permitting Kumbhabishekam will only lead to law and order problem between the two parties.

3. In view of the above, there is no scope for this Court to permit the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner for conducting Kumbhabishekam in the temple. If both the parties are able to come together and make a joint representation before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Ranipet and the Revenue Divisional Officer is convinced that both the parties will be able to conduct Kumbhabishekam in the temple in a peaceful manner, necessary orders shall be passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer and if necessary, the Revenue Divisional Officer can also order for police protection.

This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. 3/5
