Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third respondent to provide police protection during the conduct of Kundam Festival in Arulmighu Magaliamman Temple Kundam festival situated at Kuruchi Village, Madhukkarai Taluk, Coimbatore from 22.07.2025 to 07.08.2025 based on the representation dated 02.06.2025 issued by the petitioner to the respondents herein.

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third respondent to provide Police protection to conduct the ''Kundam Festival'' in Arul Mighu Magaliamman Temple situated at Kuruchi Village, Madhukkarai Taluk, Coimbatore from 22.07.2025 to 07.08.2025 based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 02.06.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

It is seen from the records that though the petitioner has sent a representation dated 02.06.2025 to the respondents seeking Police protection to conduct Kundam Festival in Arul Mighu Magaliamman Temple situated at Kuruchi Village, Madhukkarai Taluk, Coimbatore from 22.07.2025 to 07.08.2025 and the said representation was duly served on the respondents and the same was duly acknowledged by them. Since there was no response from the respondents, the petitioner has sent another representation dated 12.06.2025 to the respondents and the same was duly acknowledged by them. In spite of the representations being given to the respondents on 02.06.2025 and 12.06.2025, the respondents have not passed orders and hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

Considering the facts and circumstances, this Court directs the respondents 3 to 5/Police to extend their Police protection and permission to the petitioner for conducting the ''Kundam Festival'' in Arul Mighu Magaliamman Temple situated at Kuruchi Village, Madhukkarai Taluk, Coimbatore from 22.07.2025 to 07.08.2025 and also impose reasonable restrictions/conditions for conducting the said festival.

5. It is made clear that the said festival shall be conducted in the manner known to law and without creating any public nuisance.
6. With the above directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
