This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to dispose of the D.V.C.No.10 of 2020 pending on the file of XV Metropolitan Magistrate Court at George Town within a specific time frame.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the husband of the respondent/wife and a case has been filed against him in D.V.C.No.10 of 2020 before the file of XV Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town by his wife/respondent herein and the same is pending without any progress from the year 2020. Hence, seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate to dispose of the case as early as possible, the present criminal original petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

On a perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner is an accused in D.V.C.No.10 of 2020 filed by the respondent/wife which was taken on file by the XV Metropolitan Magistrate Court, George Town, Chennai in the year 2020 and on 08.01.2021 the case was posted for enquiry. Thereafter, the case was adjourned periodically for enquiry. Now the case has been posted on 20.10.2022 for enquiry. Hence considering the nature of the case, learned XV Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai is hereby directed to dispose 2/4

of the case within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
