By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, directing the 1st Respondent to consider the representation submitted by the Petitioner dated 11.04.2025 for sanction and disbursement of Medical Leave Salary for the period from 08.01.2025 to 03.04.2025, within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Court. 2/6
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was working as Deputy Commissioner in Tambaram City Municipal Corporation and he applied for Medical Leave from 11.12.2024 to 08.01.2025 (28 days) and from 08.01.2025 to 31.01.2025 (50 days). Thereafter, he was transferred to Greater Chennai Corporation and he joined duty on 12.02.2025. Thereafter, due to his ill-health, again he went on Medical Leave from 13.02.2025 to 03.04.2025 (50 days). It is the submission of the petitioner that he has given a representation to the 1st respondent on 11.04.2025 to pay medical leave salary and such representation is pending before the 1st respondent.
5. At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 3 would submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation, within a reasonable time. 3/6
6. In such view of the submission, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 11.04.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 17.07.2025 Index : Yes/No Speaking order /Non Speaking Order dm 4/6
