O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent-Police to give police protection to measure and survey the petitioner's lands situated at (i) Old survey No.693 New survey No.1/2 Sub Division No.1/2A to the extent of 0.07.0Acre, Balur village, Panruti Sub Registrar office Panrutti Taluk, Cuddalore district (ii) Old survey No.693 New survey No.1/2 New Sub Division No.1/2C to the extent of 0.01.0Acre out of 0.01.0 Acres at Balur village, Panruti Sub Registrar office, Panrutti Taluk, Cuddalore District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.07.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the third respondent and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner filed an application before the second respondent/Tahsildar seeking to measure and survey his land. It is for the Tahsildar/Surveyor has to take steps to survey the petitioner's land under

Survey and Boundaries Act. If the officials concerned are facing any interruption/disturbance while conducting survey, they have to take steps to survey the petitioner's land in accordance with law. The petitioner cannot straight away come before this Court, seeking police protection for surveying his land.

4. In view of the same, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. The petitioner is at liberty to work out his remedy before the competent authority.
