The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(i) of IPC and Section 4 of Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998, in Crime No.244 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant is that she went to her house, at that time, the petitioner followed her and when the defacto complainant was nearing her house, the petitioner closed her moth with his hands and tried to snatch her gold chain. But she pulled down him and raised alarm. Thereafter, he fled away from the scene of occurrence. Hence the case.

3.There is no representation for the petitioner either in person or through counsel.

4. The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the petitioner has attempted to snatch the chain of the defacto complainant. He would further submit that this is https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

vkr second application for anticipatory bail filed by the petitioner and the earlier application was dismissed as withdrawn by this Court. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. After hearing the learned Government Advocate and also considering the gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
