Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to hold an enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner on 08.06.2021 and 16.07.2021 concerning the illegal movement of rice across the State and into the Union Territory of Puducherry. O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to hold an enquiry on the complaint lodged by the petitioner on 08.06.2021 and 16.07.2021 concerning the illegal movement of rice across the State and into the Union Territory of Puducherry.

2. The facts of the case are as follows:

The petitioner made complaints dated 08.06.2021 and 16.07.2021 before the 5th respondent for transporting PDS rice from Puducherry to other State illegally. Till date no order was passed. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition before this Court seeking appropriate direction.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the complaints dated 08.06.2021 and 16.07.2021 made by the petitioner within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the petitioner's representation will be considered in accordance with law within the time stipulated.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's complaints dated 08.06.2021 and 16.07.2021 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
