These Civil Miscellaneous Petitions have been filed seeking to condone the delay of 511 days in filing the above Civil Miscellaneous Appeals against the award passed in M.C.O.P.Nos. 1913, 1916, 2160, 1914, 1915, 1912 of 2017, dated 07.10.2021 respectively on the file of Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Special District Judge, Salem.

2. Ms.R.Rathna Thara, learned counsel for appellant insurance company submitted that the connected appeal was already disposed of. Furthermore, after getting sanction from the competent authorities, the appeal papers forwarded by the Regional Office to the counsel on record and thereafter the appeals were filed on 23.06.2023, as a result of which, there is a delay of 511 days in filing the above Civil Miscellaneous Appeals arose, which is neither willful nor wanton. Therefore, he filed the above petitions to condone the delay in filing the above Civil Miscellaneous Appeals.

3. Considering his submissions, this court is inclined to decide the issue and reasons assigned on the side of appellant insurance company for the delay is justifiable one. Accordingly, this court is inclined to allow the above petitions. Registry is directed to number the Civil Miscellaneous Appeals if it is otherwise found to be in order and post the matters on 09.07.2025.
