O R D E R

This petition is filed to direct the M.C.No.542 of 2019 on the file of the VI Additional Family Court, Chennai, to be disposed of within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner is the wife and children of the respondent who have filed a maintenance case in M.C. No.542/2019 before the VI Additional Family Court, Chennai which is pending for three years without any progress. On perusal of the case diary it is seen that the matter was pending for the counter of respondent. Though it is understandable that due to Covid Pandemic the Courts could not conduct the cases in timely manner, once normalcy is restored, priority should have been given to these kind of cases. It is needless to state that the petitioners have filed the petition seeking maintenance for their livelihood. The second and third petitioners are the minor children of the first petitioner. Hence the Court has to show due diligence to dispose the matter as expeditiously as possible. 2/4

3. In view of the above said reasons, the learned Judge, VI Additional Family Court, Chennai is directed to dispose the case in M.C. No.542/2019. within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
