Criminal Original Petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code praying to direct the second respondent to receive their complaint as victims and record their statements under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code and proceed in accordance with law in Crime No.47 of 2022 on the file of the second respondent police.

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to record the statement of the petitioners under Section 161 of Cr.PC and proceed further with the investigation in Crime No.47 of 2022.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that the investigation is done by the District Crime Branch, Villupuram district and it involves cheating of the victims by collecting money from them, which was never repaid back. The learned Additional Public prosecutor submitted that the statement of the petitioners will also be recorded under Section 161 of Cr.PC, after receiving complaint from them.

In view of the above submission, there shall be a direction to the Inspector of Police, DCB, Chennai to receive the complaint from the petitioners and to record their statement under Section 161 of Cr.PC and collect the relevant materials from the petitioners in the course of investigation.

This Criminal Original petition is disposed of with the above directions.
