O.P.No.782 of 2021 O.P.No.782 of 2021 C.V.KARTHIKEYAN,J., This Original Petition has been filed under Sections 228 & 276 of Indian Succession Act, 1925, seeking letters of administration with respect to a Will for which, the Family Justice Courts of the Republic of Singapore had also granted Letters of Administration, consequent to the same being proved in Case No.FCP 5393/2019, with relation to a Will dated 28.03.2016, executed by Venkatrama Chellam Balasubramanian, who died at Singapore on 23.09.2019. He also possessed properties in Chennai and therefore, Letters of Administration are sought with respect to the properties in Chennai.

2. The petitioner is the widow of Venkatrama Chellam Balasubramanian. The 1st and 2nd respondents are his daughters.

3. The respondents had given their consent affidavits.

4. After following due procedure, the petitioner was invited to tender evidence.

5. The petitioner examined herself as P.W.1. The true copy of the order of Probate dated 13.11.2019 by the Family Court, Republic of Singapore was marked as Ex.P1.

6. The learned Master had put up the issue of admissibility but since there is no dispute about the fact that the order was actually passed, I would take into consideration Ex.P1 in the Original Petition.Exs.P5 and P6 are the consent affidavits given by the 1st and 2nd respondents.

7. It is thus seen that the Will had been proved in manner known to law. This Original Petition has been filed, seeking Letters of Administration relating to the properties in Chennai.

8. In view of the above, Letters of Administration is granted to the petitioner. The petitioner shall execute a bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) in the name of the Assistant Registrar (Original Side), High Court of Madras. 18.11.2022 ssi O.P.No.782 of 2021 2/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
