Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to receive the application for renewal of permit from the petitioner subsequently renew the contract carriage permit of petitioner's vehicle registration No. TN 30 AL 7457 within a period fixed by this Court in pursuance of her representation dated 10.08.2023.

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to receive the application for renewal of permit submitted by the petitioner for renewal of her contract 1/4

carriage permit in respect of vehicle bearing Registration No. TN 30 AL 7457 within a time stipulated by this Court.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that she is holding a contract carriage permit in respect of vehicle bearing Registration No. TN 30 AL 7457 and the said permit expired on 21.07.2021. Even though the petitioner submitted necessary application for renewal of permit during July 2021, the respondent refused to accept the same. Thereafter, due to ill health, the petitioner could not approach the respondent. Subsequently, the petitioner submitted a representation on 10.08.2023, requesting the respondent to consider his application for renewal of his contract carriage permit by condoning the delay in filing the application and the same has not been considered till date. 3.Mr.N.Naveen Kumar, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent, on written instructions, submits that till date the petitioner has not applied for renewal in appropriate form.

4.In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, the petitioner is directed to submit appropriate application for renewal of her 2/4

contract carriage permit within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order along with all necessary documents in the prescribed form. If any such application for renewal is submitted by the petitioner, the same shall be considered and final orders shall be passed by the respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of such application by the petitioner.
