Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to give the Personal Security Officer (PSO) to petitioner in pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 08.05.2023.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to act upon the representation dated 08.05.2023 and to provide the Personal Security Officer to the petitioner in view of the life threat faced by the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the respondent and also perused the materials available on record.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is a District Coordinator of the Sangam and he was brutally attacked and was attempted to be killed on earlier occasions. The security was provided to petitioner till the year 2022. However, thereafter the security was withdrawn on the ground that a criminal case is pending against the petitioner and the petitioner has been arrayed as A3 in Crime No.319 of 2022. The petitioner has stated that the life threat continuous for him and hence, he made a representation to the respondent on 08.05.2023 Page No.2/4

seeking for providing a Personal Security Officer. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation dated 08.05.2023 on its own merits and in accordance with law and decide the same within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
