By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to mutate the patta in the name of petitioner in respect of the property comprised in Block No.8, Ward No.B, T.S.No/8, MIG House No.M-201, Arakonam mini Neighborhood Scheme, Arakonam, Ranipet District.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner sold the subject property measuring an extent of 103.80 sq.m. situated at Arakonam, Ranipet District, to one K.Janaki vide sale deed dated 23.05.2013 registered as Document No.3939 of 2013 on the file of SRO, Arakonam Joint-II. It is stated that Janaki executed a will dated 03.01.2024, in favour of her brother-in-law namely Vishwanathan Kirubagaran/ petitioner herein. It is further stated that Janaki passed away on 02.05.2024 and that petitioner is residing in U.S.A. Thereafter, one Venkatesan was appointed as petitioner's power agent vide power of attorney dated 01.04.2025 adjudicated as Adj No.13 of 2025 on the file of SRO, Arakonnam. Thereafter, Venkatesan in his capacity as power of attorney, submitted a representation for mutation of patta in the name of petitioner on 12.05.2025, the same is stated to be kept pending. Hence this writ petition.
4. At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondent that they would consider petitioner's 2/4
representation seeking mutation of patta and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law after affording the petitioner and other interested parties a reasonable opportunity of hearing, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by petitioner for mutation of patta on its own merits and issue patta, after putting the petitioner on notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested persons/stake holders within a period of 12 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
