ORDER

Vasudevan, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent police that he shall not be harassed.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that frequently the respondent police is disturbing him by tapping his doors on certain unfounded allegations stated to have been given by one Munusamy.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that on the complaint of one Munusamy, enquiry is taken up towards Amutha, who is the wife of the petitioner. The need of the police to enquire about her husband may arise only on enquiring his wife. For the present, there is no need for the police to enquire him.

4. The said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor is recorded. However, if the respondent police has occasioned to enquire/investigate him, it shall be strictly in accordance with D.K.Basu directions (AIR 1997 SC 610) and the petitioner shall not be harassed either directly or indirectly by the police.

5.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
