Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the 1/5

petitioner representation dated 03.07.2023 and pass orders, and cancel the patta issued in favour of the respondents 4 to 8 in the revenue records and other records in respect of the lands comprised in Compressing in Gramanatham Old Survey No.268/1, New No.457/16 situated at Railway Station Road, Keelmudalambedu, Kavarapet Village, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Tiruvallur District 601 206 within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 03.07.2023 and cancellation of the patta issued in the name of the respondents 4 to 8 in respect of the property situated in Old S.No.268/1, New S.No.457/16 at Railway Station Road, Keelmudalambedu, Tiruvallur District 601 206, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property has been in his possession and enjoyment. However, patta has been wrongly issued in the name of the respondents 4 to 8. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 on 03.07.2023 seeking cancellation of the patta issued in the name of the respondents 4 to 8. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered, on its own merit, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.07.2023 and pass final order, on its own merits, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing necessary notice to the petitioner and the respondents 4 to 8.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
