ORDER

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.Vasudha Thiagarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who is directed to take notice on behalf of the respondent.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue a social status certificate to the petitioner's children namely Thirunavukkarasu - son and Santhapriya - daughter as Hindu Kattunaicken S.T Community to secure and ends of justice. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The case of the petitioner is that he belongs to Kattunaicken ST community and his father was an employee of Southern Railway, appointed under ST Quota and the petitioner's brother is also a Railway employee and whileso, the application seeking certificates for the petitioner's children was rejected and hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the children viz., son and daughter of the petitioner are in need of community certificates for their educational and other purpose, stating that they belong to Hindu Kattunaicken ST community.

5. It appears that the matter is pending before the State Level Scrutiny Committee. Therefore, it is for the said authority to consider the grievance of the petitioner regarding issuance of community certificate, after proper verification, and after giving due opportunity to the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is for the petitioner to submit all the necessary documents in this regard to the said authority. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
